Let’s find the best sunsets in Ibiza!

The spirit of adventure mixes with the seeking to relax in this trip around the best sunset spots in Ibiza. The astonishing views of every one of them will leave you speechless.

Cala Benirrás

Cala Benirrás is probably the most famous place to watch the sunset in Ibiza. Why? Not only because of how spectacularly the sun hides on the horizon, with the islet of Es Cap Bernat in the background, but also because of the special atmosphere.

Every summer Wednesday and Sunday, dozens of people with drums gather in Cala Benirrás, creating the hippie atmosphere so typical of Ibiza since the 1960s.

Of course, in Cala Benirrás you will be able to enjoy one of the best sunsets in Ibiza while swimming or just lying on the shore. But remember, this place gets a bit crowded during summer months, so don’t be late!

That being said, Cala Benirrás has one of the best sunsets in Ibiza, but also a lot of facilities nearby, like the typical “chiringuitos” and an artisan’s market at the entrance. Remember to carry sandals or crocs to avoid hurting your soles with the rocks.

You also have a car park at the entrance, but be aware that at weekends this one becomes full almost at the first hours of the morning. If you prefer, there is a route to go walking. No excuses to not enjoy one of the best sunsets in Ibiza, drums included!

Cala Conta

Cala Conta, also known as Platges de Comte, offers another of the best sunsets on Ibiza. This is one of the most popular beaches on the island – you can find bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the red sky.

As one of the most famous beaches on the island, you will find many people waiting for the sun to disappear while they have a drink on the shore. That’s why it’s best to go early if you want to take a good place to enjoy the natural beauty that this corner of Ibiza has to offer. You can even come by boat!

Its clear water help to make a unique experience at any moment of the day, perfect to enjoy swimming or snorkelling while you observe the marine wildlife. But be careful with the water, though. Not the one at the sea (well, that one too), but the bottled water at the nearby stores.

You can expect a price around 12 euros for 1l bottle. Better carry your own bottle of water!

This is an ideal spot to enjoy one of the best sunsets in Ibiza with friends, family or just alone! White sand, turquoise water and an excellent atmosphere that simply cannot be forgotten.

Es Vedrá

If you’ve heard of Ibiza, you’ve probably heard of Es Vedrà, one of the most famous places on the island. It is a mythical place, where stories and legends have been circulating among the island’s inhabitants for a long time.

It is said that UFOs have been sighted here, that it is the second Bermuda Triangle and that it is one of the most magnetic places in the world. You can’t get to the islet, but if you go to the Torre des Savinar, you can enjoy this magnificent sunset with the islet of Es Vedrà in the background. The perfect picture for Instagram!

You can spot the island from the car parking at Cala d’Hort too, where this one of the best sunsets in Ibiza will look just unforgettable. With its 382 m above the sea level, Es Vedrá is referred to as one of the favourite places of tourists and inhabitants of Ibiza.

Also, this islet is part of the Natural Park of Es Vedrá. That is the reason why it cannot be visited directly, to preserve its wildlife. This islet is a symbol of the Pityuistic Islands that will get you completely amazed. One of the most beautiful sunsets in a unique location.

Cala Bassa

In Cala Bassa you will find one of the best sunsets in Ibiza in a beach with crystal clear waters and white sand. You’ll feel like spending a whole day and never returning to your routine again. It is a beach located near San Antonio, the second most relevant town on the island after the capital.

Cala Bassa has plenty of facilities near the seashore. First and most important, the beach club. Cala Bassa’s beach club is the biggest in all Europe. There, you will be able to enjoy the typical food of the island to its fullest. Have you ever tasted a natural “Sangría de cava”? You just have to!

The chill outs along the shore will give you all the commodities to enjoy Cala Bassa’s sunset, one of the bests in Ibiza, as you never experienced a sunset before.

Its natural surroundings are delightful, too. You can access to its two caves if you feel like exploring, but be aware, if you come driving a car, the parking is 5 euros!

Es Codolar

Now we head towards the south of the island, where we will find the Es Codolar beach, not very frequented by tourists. From here we will have a different perspective from Es Vedrà, the magical islet of Ibiza, which we will see in the distance while we enjoy a spectacular sunset in this pebbly beach.

A tiny and hidden location perfect to practice snorkel and enjoy the wildlife of the sea. The stone carved walls, due to the water action, are simply mind-blowing. The thing is that, if you want to have fun in this natural place, the way to reach it is kind of complicated. Nothing that a good old walk cannot fix!

Another plus point is that it is not usually crowded. If you need some time alone to relax and watch possibly the best sunset in Ibiza, you have the means to do so.

Café Mambo, Sant Antoni

We leave aside the beaches and highlight a coffee in our list of the best sunsets in Ibiza: the famous Café Mambo. It is said to be one of the best sunsets in the world, and here you can enjoy it while you have a few drinks and some snacks surrounded by some famous people.

But be aware, dear traveller, that this place is expensive. If you make a reservation, they will demand a minimum consumption of 80 euros each person. This will be relatively easy, taking into account that each mojito prices around 18 euros.

If you have the money, and you are not worry of expending that amount, this will be a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset. Its beauty is undeniable, but only if you are willing to pay! Everything in this life have a price, and this sunset, as beautiful it is, it is expensive too.

Punta Galera

In Punta Galera you won’t find a beach, bars or restaurants. Here you will find flat rocks from where we will be able to jump to the sea if you want to take a dip. A different and quiet place where you can enjoy an original sunset in Ibiza.

Its name comes from the “Galera”, the Spanish word for “Galley”, an old kind of ship used by ancient civilizations such as the Greeks, Romans, Illyrians, or Phoenicians. All of them, usual visitors of the island in ancient times.

There are no facilities in the area, only the nature and the relatively low amount of visitors. It may be due to the difficulty to reach this location by car. A quiet and calm haven of peace, frequently used to meditate, yoga and, of course, enjoy one of the best sunsets in Ibiza.

Hacienda Na Xamena

We’re changing places again, and now we’re heading to the first five-star hotel that was built in Ibiza: Hacienda Na Xamena. From here you can enjoy the sunset while you are on your terrace or at the spa.

As you can imagine, watch the sunset from this location, will be kind of pricey. Is it worth? Well, if you have the money ready to expend, yeah. Its beauty is just from another world. You just have to live the experience to truly make an assessment.

Probably the best hotel to watch one of the best sunsets in Ibiza. Add good food and drinks, and all the commodities you can imagine to the formula and there you have it! The combo of triumph!

Natural Park Ses Salines

Ses Salines is a natural park where you can see salt flats located in the south of Ibiza. The sun is reflected in the salt ponds at certain times of the year. If you are lucky and there is no excessive wind, you can see how the ground becomes a mirror where you can enjoy the colours of the Ibizan sunset.

Here you can enjoy the nature on its wildest form. Flamingos, the sea, the salt flats… Even has a beach! It is completely beautiful. Best thing you can do? Go to enjoy this natural site out of the holiday season.

This is a location that every fan of the ornithology should visit. Apart from the flamingos, there are tons of other kinds of birds. You should not skip this visit if you really want to experience the real nature of Ibiza, and one of the best sunsets.

Sa Penya Esbarrada, Santa Agnès

In Sa Penya Esbarrada, we find a different and unique sunset on the island. At 20 minutes from San Antonio, we find the village of Santa Agnès in the north of the island. Also known as “The Gates of Heaven”, it is named after the stone arch we can see in the sea.

In this location, you can visit an archaeological site too. No more and no less than a house from the Muslim era. A connection between the past and the nature that will change the way you will see any other sunset from now on.

One of the best sunsets in Ibiza, to enjoy quietly, connecting to your surroundings and yourself or the ones you love. Maybe the most introspective spot and, undoubtedly, a special one.

Café del Mar

El Café del Mar is one of the most famous cafés on Ibiza since 1980, when it opened in Sant Antoni. Here you can taste some cocktails (although not exactly cheap) while enjoying one of the most famous Ibiza sunsets. Café del Mar is famous for its annual chill-out compilation albums.
