Cave of Light Ibiza: The amazing Na Coloms

The Cave of Light Ibiza (also known as Cueva de la Luz in Spanish) is located on the northern coast of the island.

Between the municipalities of Sant Joan de Labritja and Sant Antoni.

Under huge cliffs just beyond the bay of Cala Aubarca you can find the spectacular cave of Na Coloms.

It is one of the most hidden and difficult caves to access on the island, but one of the most beautiful you can find during your trip to Ibiza.

This cave receives its name due to its large natural hole in its center.

Through which the sun’s rays shine into the crystal-clear and turquoise-blue waters.

How to get to the Cave of Light-

As we have already mentioned, it is a difficult area to access.

You will only find tourists who love risks and look for adventurous routes.

There are buses from Sant Antonio and Ibiza to Portinatx which is the closest town to the area.

From there or from Cala de San Vicente you will have to either accompany a guided tourist group, or travel with a local Ibicencan.

If you are looking for adventure and sport, you can hike the route to Cave of Light Ibiza on foot.

Although we highly recommend going with someone who already knows the way.

Otherwise you could get lost, as there are no signs indicating the route, and it is easy to take the wrong path.

The walking route to this wonderful place is long (about an hour and a half) and some sections are somewhat difficult.

The outward journey is not too difficult because it is downhill, but the return journey can be a much longer.

You can hike this great natural landscape all year round.
