Why making an Ibiza shore excursion?

There are so many reasons why you should join an Ibiza shore excursion and discover the other side of Ibiza. Ibiza is not only drinking in clubs until the sun rises or spending the day on some of the biggest clubs in the world. Yes, that’s a great plan, but there are more things to do in Ibiza.

However, who doesn’t like about finding golden hidden beaches (like Cala Bassa and Cala Conta) or learning about tales and myths about UFOs and giants living in a colossal rock just a few kilometres away from the Ibiza coast?

You will only need a few hours of your time to take a boat and discover these amazing places that often get missed by the majority of tourists. Let’s see the best Ibiza shore excursions.

Sa Conillera

We start this list about the best Ibiza shore excursions with Sa Conillera (also known as Conejera in Spanish), an islet just a few kilometers away from Sant Antoni de Portmany and the Ibiza coastline. It is an uninhabited island, but it is home to a lighthouse, where people used to live until some decades ago, when the lighthouses started working automatically.

The island is just 3 km long, and it’s the one of the smallest in the Pitiusas Archipelago. There is an old legend that says Hannibal, the Carthaginian general, was born in Sa Conillera when his parents had to dock in a cave because of adverse weather conditions.

It is easy to reach the island by boat, and some companies (like Float Your Boat) sail around the island during one of their beach cruises in Ibiza. It is definitely a must if you’re around Sant Antoni and want to spend some time sailing along the coast of Ibiza.

Es Vedrá

Es Vedrá is one of the icons of the island of Ibiza, and many mysteries and tales surround this enormous rock. It is said that Es Vedrá has a special aura, that UFOs have been seen flying around the island, and that magnetic forces are impressive here. That is why it is known as the Bermuda Triangle of the Mediterranean Sea. Even some boats get lost while sailing around the island!

Moreover, it is one of the most photographed places in Ibiza. Yes, it’s not possible to access the island (it is quite steep), but you can watch the sunset in Ibiza with Es Vedrá in the background, forming a wonderful scenery. We are sure you’ve seen this kind of photos on Instagram or other social networks.

You can go to Torre des Savinar, an old watchtower to take photographs of this stunning place and, of course, enjoy the views! Besides, if you want to see Es Vedrá right from the beach, you just have to reach Cala d’Hort.

S’Espalmador

S’Espalmador is a little island right between Ibiza and Formentera, and it is the biggest island among those who are uninhabited. It is so close to Formentera, that it can be reachable by foot depending on sea currents, as it is connected by a sandbar that becomes visible during low tide (however, it is discouraged to pass through it because of safety reasons).

It is a private property, but the access to the island is allowed to everyone – don’t worry, you will be able to swim and sunbathe in S’Espalmador beaches. It is truly a paradisiacal experience.

Formentera

Heaven on earth. A paradise. That’s what Formentera looks like to those who’ve had the privilege to visit this magnificent island. It is easy to access from Ibiza – there are ferries that come and go every few minutes between Ibiza port and Formentera.

Once there, you just cannot miss Ses Illetes beach – it is considered the best beach in Spain and one of the best in the world. Its white sand and crystal-clear, turquoise waters will make you feel in paradise. Besides, it is not crowded, so you will feel relaxed and free from stress and noise.

Comte Cove

This is one of the most visited places in Ibiza. You only have to go to the northwest to enjoy this wonderful chain of islands. We assure you that what you will see will leave you speechless. Because watching the sun hiding between its crystal clear blue waters is priceless.

As we have mentioned before, the Comte Cove is formed by different smaller coves, each one of them with a particular charm. All of them are separated by natural geographical features.

Visit this corner of paradise if you want to get away from the noise of civilization.

Ses Salines

This peaceful retreat is located in a Natural Park. You can not think of making an Ibiza shore excursions without passing through the waters that hide the Posidonia Oceanica, the longest-lived species of the biosphere and declared a World Heritage Site.

In Ses Salines you can find different scenarios that unfold along its moon-shaped beach surrounded by pine forests. So do not miss the opportunity to stroll through a film set that hides a surprise in each of its corners.
