Just Be

Just Be has made a complete journey through electronic music. He started his career being Matthew B making acid house in his country influenced by all this sound, a real explosion in the U.K. in these years.

New sounds and evolution is his label, a continuous search of new things, something to show to his people.

Underground warehouse parties and illegal raves helped him to create his own style. This anarchic environment was perfect for Just Be, he was doing what he wanted to do, total freedom, actually this freedom is recognizable in his creations mixing House, Breakbeat, Techno, Downtempo and Ambient.

U.K. electronic scene was a melting pot, some DJ’s was eaten by this era, but some of them emerged in early 90s, when he get some residences in London, the perfect city to develop his career. Every weekend was called to participate in parties in Rat Pack or Clink Street, some of the best clubs in London. One of these clubs was crucial for him: The End. This club was situated in an abandoned train tunnel, and this hole was his home for 14 years. From The End, Just Be could show his creations around the world.

Amnesia in 1989 and Space was his first experiences in Ibiza, a long time ago, he brought the sound of White Islands, but he maintained his roots making music for British fans. 2011 was his year in Ibiza, he brought us a new sound with “Shake It”, in collaboration with Layo, in the main room at Amnesia.

Music has been all his world since he started to play percussion in the London School Symphony Orchestra, but it was the electronic revolution what finally tied this DJ to the world of music. From there, XL Recordings, End Recordings, his own labels, Olmeto and Plank & Oblong and many more producers have worked with Just Be.
