About the climate and geography of Ibiza
Before moving on to the many attractions and areas to visit, we first thought it fitting to let you in on the basics of the island itself.
This stunning island is beautifully situated in the Mediterranean Sea, where it lies not far from the coast of Spain.
The island is part of the archipelago known as the Balearic Islands, where it comes in as the 3rd largest island, with a size of approximately 78.5 square miles The island is shaped like a pear and is located about 93 miles southeast of Valencia.
Ibiza has a Mediterranean climate, which means it has hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Ibiza receives an average of about 10 hours of sunshine per day in the summer and about 6 hours per day in the winter.
In the summer months (June to September), the average temperature is around 25°C (77°F) during the day and about 20°C (68°F) at night.
The temperature can reach up to 30°C (86°F) or higher during the hottest part of the day. The water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea around Ibiza ranges from about 21°C (70°F) in the spring to about 27°C (81°F) in the summer.

The island is divided into three main regions: the west, the east, and the north. The west coast is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife, while the east coast is more peaceful and laid-back.

This list comes quite in handy as more than half of the beaches of ibiza dont have public transportation to get there, or some don’t have restaurants. Like Cala Saladeta which is one of my personal favorite, doesn´t have a bar, restaurant, showers, public transport, hotels near, changing rooms or nothing (that’s why i like it)
Ibiza Town
Ibiza Town, also known as Eivissa in Catalan, is the capital and largest city on the island. It is located on the eastern coast and is home to the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site worth exploring to its fullest.
The Old Town is filled with narrow streets, charming houses, and ancient walls. It is also home to the Cathedral of Santa María, which dates back to the 13th century. From the port you can enjoy ferry excursions, lovely cafés and restaurants, and just marvel at the crystal clear water while you stroll along the harborside.
If you are looking to do some shopping, Ibiza Town has everything you need and then some. From typical tourist necessities, such a inflatable volleyballs and beach towels, to high-end luxury brands, there is something for everyone here.
In addition to its history and culture, Ibiza Town is also known for its lively nightlife. So if you are looking for an exciting time with great music, an even better atmosphere and plenty of late nights, Ibiza Town is where you need to go!

Parking In Ibiza
Chances are that you rented a car while in ibiza, well good luck with the parking. don´t even try it in the center, the old socialist local govermnet in Ibiza started doing bike lanes a took 100´s of parkings away.
So if you want to make it easy just go to Es Pratet, huge parking right by the port, really close to the old Town Dalt vila but expensive (not like amsterdam expensive ), 4,5€ per hour on peak time and season. winter is cheaper.
if you want to park free , park by IKEA or the police station, 20 minute walk or so but it´s free.

Playa d’en Bossa
This beach can be found on the southeast coast of the island. Playa d’en Bossa is one of the longest and most popular beaches in Ibiza, where thousands of tourists flock every year. It is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.
There are also a number of bars and restaurants along the beach, making it a great spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat, or possibly mingle and socialize with other tourists looking to do the same.
Las Salinas
Located in the south of the island, Las Salinas is a group of salt flats that have been used for salt production since ancient times.
The flats are surrounded by dunes and a beautiful beach, making it a great place to relax and take in the natural beauty of the island.
Today the salt flats are a protected natural area and a popular spot for birdwatching, with avid birders flocking from all over the world to spectate the many species and varieties during migratory seasons. But it is possible to see rare plumage and beaks all year round as well.
Es Vedrà
Es Vedrà is a small island closely situated off the southwest coast of Ibiza. It is a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and boat trips.
The island is home to a number of rare plant and animal species, making it a great place for nature lovers. It is also said to have mystical energy, making it a popular spot for spiritual seekers.
Sant Antoni de Portmany
Sant Antoni de Portmany, or San Antonio in English, is a town located on the western coast of the island. While both Cala Bassa and Cala Conta are great beaches to enjoy, the vibrant nightlife here is also world famous. Cala Llonga
Looking for a secluded paradise on the island? Then Cala Llonga might be just what you need. Cala Llonga is a small beach town located on the east coast of the island, and we highly recommend you choose accommodation here, if you are not looking to partake in the vibrant nightlife found elsewhere on the island.

Cala Tarida
Cala Tarida is a small beach town located on the west coast of the island. If you have ever seen images of stunning sunsets from Ibiza, chances are high they were taken on one of the famous beaches, such as Cala Tarida or Cala Conta.
Santa Eulària des Riu
Santa Eulària des Riu is a town that is found on the east coast of the island. While there are relaxing and beautiful sandy beaches here, such as Playa de Santa Eulària and Playa de S’Argamassa, we mention this area in particular due to the extremely charming marina.
We recommend you enjoy the local culture and cuisine as you stroll around the marina, and no matter what time of year you visit, you will be certain to enjoy your time here.
San Rafael
San Rafael is a small town that can be reached by traveling near the center of the island. Aside from the lovely atmosphere that offers peace and quiet, and authentic Spanish village life, it also boasts a handful of interesting art galleries, where you can find locally made sculptures, ceramics and more.
Sant Jordi de ses Salines
Sant Jordi de ses Salines is a small town located in the southeast of the island. We especially wish to highlight the amazing beaches of Playa d’en Bossa and Playa de Sant Jordi, and the exciting nightlife you can enjoy here. It is a great spot to party and have fun, especially during the busy season.
Formentera
If you wish to venture beyond Ibiza itself for a day-trip, might we recommend Formentera? This is a small island that can be reached by boat, near the coast of Ibiza.
Of course you can enjoy the famous and beautiful beaches, such as Platja de Migjorn and Platja de Llevant. but we recommend you rent a bike or scooter and drive around the relaxing and beautiful island for a different experience than normal.
Es Canar
This small beach resort can be found on the east coast of the island, where Es Canar offers some fantastic ways of cooling yourself down after a warm day in the sun.
The resort is famous for the nightlife in particular, and we highly recommend you try some of the local cocktail bars that offer exciting flavors and exquisite colors with their drinks.
Sa Caleta
Sa Caleta is a small beach town located on the south coast of the island. It is known for its ancient Phoenician settlement, which dates back to the 8th century BC. The area is home to a number of ancient ruins and is a great spot for history buffs. But it also offers beautiful red and orange cliffs that are idyllic to experience as well.
Cala d’Hort
Cala d’Hort is a small beach located on the southwest coast of the island that is somewhat secluded from its surroundings.
The beach is famous throughout much of the world, and nature lovers and photographers in particular appreciate the area due to the natural beauty of the place as well.
San José
San José, or Sant Josep as it is known locally, is a lovely and charming small town that you can find on the southwest coast of the island.

Sant Joan de Labritja
Sant Joan de Labritja is a warm and welcoming small town on the north coast of the island.
Like many other areas of Ibiza, the beaches here are also well worth a visit. We especially recommend Cala Xarraca and Cala San Vicente. You will find a truly charming local culture here, and many excellent places to sit back and enjoy the quiet.
Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera
Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera is a small town located in the center of the island that is known in particular for the many dining experiences available.
Whether you are looking for a gastronomic evening worthy of a Michelin star, or perhaps local cuisine in rustic settings, this town is for you!
Cala Vadella
Cala Vadella is a small beach town located on the west coast of the island. The beach itself is almost entirely encircled by large cliffs lush with plantlife,
making it an amazingly pretty sight to behold, and also ideal for the family looking for a somewhat secluded area, not filled with young people partying all the time.
Puig des Molins Necropolis
